Day 5

The Museum of Flight

We had a great time at the Museum of Flight.

They had a really fun space exhibit that made me think of Jani :)  It was quite impressive.

Little Jack especially loved the Kid Zone and sitting in some of the old planes.
I strongly remember a photo very similar to this one of Opa Peterson sitting in the cockpit :)

For any of you who had parents/grandparents serve in the war effort, you can relate to the feeling of awe when you encounter the magnitude of these old airplanes.  It's a spiritual feeling that you get when you see the planes that were flown by your ancestors.

Here are photos of the P48 and P47 flown by Opa John Peterson-

Here is a photo of the B52 Bomber that Grandpa Gus flew-

What an amazing experience to see these planes!

Another cool thing we saw was a retired Air Force One.  It was the plane used from President Eisenhower to President Jimmy Carter.  Pretty cool.  The line was so long, so we didn't go in.  But, we are planning on doing it on another date.  I don't want to miss that one!

I have a feeling this is going to be an "airplane" summer!
